Bio
Kate Koenig is a very hungry experimental-folk caterpillar who eats Fleet Foxes’ progressivism and Kate Bush’s iconoclasticism and Jeff Buckley’s zeal and Nick Drake’s disenchantment, and is still eating while you read this bio. They are also a fierce advocate for mental health awareness, which comes out in the deeply personal, introspective theater of their music.
While living in NYC from 2015 to mid-2024, they performed at Mercury Lounge, Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, Pianos, Berlin Under A, and Pete’s Candy Store, were featured in Acoustic Guitar and Glide magazines, and appeared on SiriusXM’s That Eric Alper Show on a lineup that included Marianne Faithfull. Today, they are based in the Portland, Maine metropolitan area.
As of February 2026, they have six albums available on all streaming platforms, with their latest, Zealot, released in July 2025.
